SSC JE Eligibility 2024: The Staff Selection Commission has issued the SSC JE Notification for Junior Engineers in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Posts across various Ministries/Departments/Organizations. A total of 968 Junior Engineer Vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive. In addition to the official SSC JE 2024 notification, the commission has also released the minimum eligibility criteria.
Fulfilling all requirements is essential before applying by the deadline. Applicants should provide accurate details to prevent issues during recruitment. Those with degrees in Civil Engineering, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, and aged 30 or older are eligible to apply for SSC JE 2024 exam. SSC JE Age Limit 2024: What is the Age Limit for Junior Engineer?
Aspirants must fulfil the SSC JE age limit criteria before applying for the post. Candidates must have been born not earlier than 02-08-1994 and not later than 01-08-2004 for the posts for which the age limit is up to 30 years. SSC JE Age Limit Relaxation

SSC JE 2024 Eligibility: Nationality
Apart from fulfilling the SSC JE age limit, qualification criteria, etc., candidates must be familiar with the nationality criteria when applying for the post. A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam intending to settle in India permanently
SSC JE Eligibility for OBC
As per the eligibility criteria, candidates belonging to the OBC category can avail of age relaxation up to 3 years. Besides that, all other criteria remain the same.
SSC JE Eligibility 2024: Scribe Facility
- In the case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected-BA) and cerebral palsy, the facility of a scribe is provided, if desired by the aspirant.
- The scribe facility will also be given to PwD candidates having disability of less than 40% and having difficulty in writing.
SSC Junior Engineer Eligibility: What Documents are Required to Prove JE Eligibility Criteria?
All the candidates shortlisted for the document verification round will be required to prove their eligibility claims made while filling out the application form. Failing to submit any of the following documents during the verification will lead to the cancellation of their candidature.
- Matriculation/Secondary Certificate.
- Educational Qualification Certificate.
- Experience Certificate, if applicable.
- Caste/ Category Certificate, if belongs to reserved categories.
- Persons with Disabilities Certificate in the required format, if applicable.
- Discharge Certificate, if discharged from the Armed Forces.
