Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Karnataka-Kerala Region invites application from eligible candidates for recruitment to the various posts mentioned below in different Ministries/ Offices of the Government of India for the year 2012

Eligibility Criteria for Recruitment in SSC Karnataka- Kerala Region

• Senior Technical Assistant (Geophysics)

a)      Educational Qualification: Master's Degree in Geophysics or Applied Geophysics from a recognised University or equivalent

b)      Desirable Qualification: Two years' experience in Geophysical investigations related to Ground Water Exploration

c)      Age Limit: Maximum 30 years

• Research Investigator (Forestry)

a)      Educational Qualification: Master's Degree in Statistics or Operations Research or Forestry or Economics (with Statistics) or Commerce (with Statistics) or Mathematics (with Statistics) or Agriculture (with Statistics) or two years' Post-Graduate diploma in Forestry Management from a recognised Institute/University. (AND) One year's experience in collection or compilation or analysis of data including data in Agriculture or forestry work

b)      Desirable Qualification: NIL

c)      Age Limit: Maximum 30 years

• Senior Technical Assistant in the Directorate of Areca nut & Spices Development

a)      Educational Qualification: Degree in Agriculture followed by Post Graduate Degree in any branch of the Agricultural Sciences from a recognised University or equivalent

b)      Desirable Qualification: NIL

c)      Age Limit: Maximum 28 years

• Junior Engineer in Central Institute of Coastal Engineering for Fishery

a)      Educational Qualification: Diploma in Civil Engineering from recognised Board or Institute or equivalent. (AND Two years experience in survey and designs

b)      Desirable Qualification: NIL

c)      Age Limit: Maximum 30 years

• Handicrafts Promotion Officer in Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts)

a)      Educational Qualification: Master's Degree in any subject from a recognised University or equivalent

b)      Desirable Qualification: Two years experience in the field of Handicrafts, Cottage Industry and Small Scale Industry

c)      Age Limit: Maximum 30 years

• Instructor (Fishing Technology) in Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical & Engineering Training

a)      Educational Qualification: Master's Degree in Zoology or Fishery Science or Industrial Fisheries from a recognised university OR Post Graduate Diploma in Fishery Science from Central Institute of Fishery Education, Mumbai. (AND) One year experience in Sea Fishing and Gear Fabrication OR (i) Bachelor of Fishery Science (Nautical Science) from a recognised University. (ii) Three years experience in Sea Fishing and Gear Fabrication

b)      Desirable Qualification: NIL

c)      Age Limit: Maximum 30 years

• Deputy Ranger in Forest Survey of India, Southern Zone

a)      Educational Qualification: 12th standard or its equivalent or trained Forester or trained Forest Guard from the Regional Forestry School (AND) Should have at least 2 years experience in Forest Survey/working plan organisation/Forest Resource Survey work in State Forest Department

b)      Desirable Qualification: NIL

c)      Age Limit: Maximum 28 years

Pay Band for the Designated Posts

• Senior Technical Assistant (Geophysics): Rs 9300 - 34800 with Rs 4600 Grade Pay
• Research Investigator (Forestry): Rs 9300 - 34800 with Rs 4200 Grade Pay
• Senior Technical Assistant in the Directorate of Areca nut & Spices Development: Rs 9300 - 34800 with Rs 4200 Grade Pay
• Junior Engineer in Central Institute of Coastal Engineering for Fishery: Rs 9300 - 34800 with Rs 4200 Grade Pay
• Handicrafts Promotion Officer in Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts): Rs 9300 - 34800 with Rs 4200 Grade Pay
• Instructor (Fishing Technology) in Central Institute of Fisheries Nautical & Engineering Training: Rs 9300 - 34800 with Rs 4200 Grade Pay
• Deputy Ranger in Forest Survey of India, Southern Zone: Rs 5200-20200 with Rs 2400 Grade Pay

Selection Procedure for Recruitment in SSC Karnataka-Kerala Region

Candidates fulfilling, the minimum prescribed qualifications will be shorlisted on the basis of their educational qualifications, academic records, percentage of marks etc, or through a screening test at the discretion of the Commission.

The selected candidates may be required to undergo a written proficiency test wherever applicable/required or considered necessary by the Commission.

Application Fee: Rs 50 only

Candidates have to pay fee in the shape of CRFS. These stamps are available at all departmental Post Offices of the country. These stamps may be pasted on the application form in the space provided for the purpose. No fee for women candidates
