UGC NET Result 2024: Check Procedure and Criteria of Marks

Step I: Calculate Qualified Candidates:  6% of the total candidates who appeared in both NET papers will qualify.

Step II: Category Slot Allocation: Now, distribute the total slots among various categories according to the Government of India's reservation policy.

Step III: Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have taken both papers and achieved the following aggregate marks:

General (Unreserved) / General-EWS: At least 40%
Reserved Categories (SC, ST, OBC, PwD, and Third Gender): At least 35%

Step IV: Determine Qualified Candidates: For each subject and category, calculate the number of candidates who qualify based on the following:

Identify candidates within each category who meet the required percentage in both papers.
Calculate the qualifying cutoff using:
Total slots allocated for that category ÷ Total candidates in that category.
This cutoff determines the eligibility for Assistant Professor for the specific subject and category.

Step V: Allocate JRF Slots Distribute the total number of JRF slots among the different categories in accordance with the Government of India's reservation policy.

What is the validity of UGC NET Certificate ?

The certificate for UGC NET will be valid till lifetime. Candidates can reappear for the exam to improve their scores.
