UPSC CMS Age Limit
Candidates must not exceed the age of 32 years as of August 1, 2024, when applying for the UPSC CMS recruitment, i.e., candidates must have been born no earlier than August 2, 1992, according to the UPSC CMS age limit of 2024. However, the upper age limit must not exceed 35 years as of August 1, 2024 for Medical Officers Grade in General Duty Medical Officers Sub cadre of Central Health Services.

- Candidate must have passed the written and practical parts of the final M.B.B.S. exam.
- Aspirant who has appeared or has yet to appear at the final M.B.B.S. exam may also apply. However, they must submit proof of having passed the written and practicals of the final M.B.B.S. examination along with the detailed application. Such proof of passing the requisite examination should have been issued latest by the closing date of Detailed Application Form of the Combined Medical Services Examination, 2024.
UPSC CMS Eligibility 2024: Nationality
The nationality criteria play an important role in the UPSC CMS recruitment process. As per the UPSC CMS Eligibility 2024, candidates must be either:
(a) a Citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st of January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India. or
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or the East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or from Vietnam to permanently settle in India
UPSC CMS Eligibility 2024: Marital Status
- If you have entered into or contracted a marriage with a person having a spouse living then you cannot apply for the post.

- Candidates who have a spouse living has entered into or contracted a marriage with any person shall not be eligible for appointment of service; provided that the Central Government may fulfil that such marriage is permissible under the personal law applicable to such person and the other party to the marriage and there are other grounds for so doing exempt any person from the operation of this rule.
UPSC CMS Eligibility 2024: Scribe Facility
- Candidates having less than 40% disability and having difficulty in writing will be eligible for the scribe facility, subject to submission of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has limitations on writing and that the scribe is essential to write the exam on his/her behalf from the competent medical authority of a government healthcare institution as per the prescribed format.
- The qualifications of the Commission’s scribe and own scribe must not exceed the minimum qualification criteria of the examination.
- Persons with benchmark disabilities in the categories of blindness, locomotor disability (both arm affected-BA) and cerebral palsy will be eligible for compensatory time of twenty minutes per hour of the exam.
