Public Service Commission, West Bengal Recruitment 2017 Notification: Public Service Commission, West Bengal has invited applications in the prescribed format from eligible candidates to fill 260 seats of Assistant Professors. The eligible candidates can apply to the post through the prescribed format on or before 25 April 2017.

Assistant Professors ( Economics/ Education/ English/ Others ) : 261 Posts
Eligibility Criteria for Posts under Public Service Commission, West Bengal
Educational Qualification:
Assistant Professor : Good academic record, with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade B in 7 point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in a relevant subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent Degree from an accredited foreign University. The candidates must have proficiency to communicate (spoken and written) effectively in Bengali & English. For other essential academic qualifications required interested candidates are advised to refer to the official notification.
Head Master : Second class Master’s Degree with Honours Degree of an Indian University or equivalent qualifications & Five years’ teaching experience in a responsible post, preferably as the Head of a well-established modern residential Boys’ and/or Girls’ secondary school.
Age Limit for Posts under Public Service Commission, West Bengal
Assistant Professor: Less than 37 years
Head Master : Less than 45 years
Age is relax-able for certain categories as per rules.
Selection Procedure for Posts under Public Service Commission, West Bengal
If the number of applications received is large and it is not convenient or possible for the Commission to interview all the applicants the Commission may restrict the number of candidates for interview to a reasonable limit on the basis of either higher qualifications in the relevant subjects/higher standard of marks/grade obtained in the essential qualifications or experience in relevant field higher than the minimum required or on the basis of a Screening Test/Written Test. This decision entirely depends on the competent authority.
