BHEL commissioned 600 MW thermal unit at Dhabra in Chhattisgarh
This is the second unit of 2 × 600 MW power project, commissioned by BHEL.
State-owned power equipment-maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) on 13 April 2015 commissioned a 600 MW thermal unit at Dhabra in Janjgir Champa District of Chhattisgarh for the Dainik Bhaskar Power Limited.
This is the second unit of 2 × 600 MW power project, commissioned by BHEL. The first 600 MW Unit was commissioned in 2014.
As per BHEL, its cumulative installed capacity now stands at 11400 MW in the state and its share of the total installed capacity in the state stands at 68 percent. BHEL has been a partner in the power development programme of the state of Chhattisgarh.
BHEL is an integrated power plant equipment manufacturer founded in 1964. In 2013 it was named a Maharatna Company. The current Chief Executive officer of the Company is B Prasada Rao.
