CCEA approved four rail line projects worth 8351 crore rupees

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), presided by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on 18 November 2015 gave its nod to four rail line projects in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

The approximate cost of the rail line projects is around 8351 crore rupees.

The four rail line projects are:

Third and fourth lines between Budhapank and Salegaon via Rajathgarh Railway Line

• The lines will be spread over an area of 85 km each with a cost of 1172.92 crore rupees.

• The project is likely to be completed in the next three years during 12th and 13th Plan period.

• Angul, Dhenkanal and Cuttack districts of Odisha will be benefitted through the project.

Doubling of Kottavalasa-Koraput Railway line

• The Kottavalasa-Koraput Railway line of 189.278 km will be doubled with a completion cost of 2977.64 crore rupees.

• The project is likely to be completed in the next seven years during 12th and 13th Plan period.

• Koraput district of Odisha, Vizianagaram and Vishakaphatnam districts of Andhra Pradesh will be benefited through the project.

Doubling of Koraput-Singapur Road Railway line

• The Koraput-Singapur Road section railway line of 164.56 km will be doubled with a completion cost of 2361.74 crore rupees.

• The project is likely to be completed in the next seven years during 12th and 13th Plan period.

• Koraput and Rayagada districts of Odisha will be benefited through the project.

Doubling of Jagdalpur-Koraput Railway line

• The Jagdalpur-Koraput section railway line of 110.22 km will be doubled with a completion cost of 1839.02 crore rupees.

• The project is likely to be completed in the next seven years during 12th and 13th Plan period.

• Koraput district of Odisha and Bastar district of Chhattisgarh will be benefited through the project.

Doubling of the lines will greatly ease the ever increasing freight traffic between these sections which will eventually increasing the revenue of railways.
