Chief Ministers Conference on fifth Report on Public Order of Second ARC Held

Union Home Minister chaired the conference of Chief Ministers on the 5th report on Public Order submitted by 2nd ARC on 15 April 2013.

A conference of Chief Ministers on the fifth Report on Public Order of the second Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) was held on 15 April 2013. The conference was chaired by the Union Home Minister, Sushil Kumar Shinde and attended by the Chief Ministers, Home Ministers of States and Lt. Governors & Administrators of Union Territories as well as the members of Group of Ministers constituted by the Government to consider the recommendations of the 2nd ARC.  

During the conference discussions on 153 recommendations contained in the firth Report of the ARC was conducted. Few of the major issues under discussion were police reforms, management of public order, reforms in criminal justice system, federal crimes and special laws & the role of civil society and media in the management of public order. Further the recommendations will be discussed following the views of the participants of the Conference.
