The Rajasthan High Court on 16 April 2010 ordered appointment of a committee to look into “all aspects/issues” relating to the Gujjar agitation. The Bench of Chief Justice Jagdish Bhalla and Justice Manish Bhandari suggested that the committee could include a retired judge of the High Court, a bureaucrat, a social activist, a Member of the Bar, a Parliamentarian, a legislator, etc. The order was in response to a public interest writ filed by an Ajmer resident, J. P. Dadhich. The petitioner alleged non-compliance of earlier orders of the court on the matter issued on 25 March 2010. He also complained of “inconvenience” being caused to the public due to roadblocks in connection with the ongoing protest marches by the Gujjar community.
