After the formation of the 18th Lok Sabha, now everyone's eyes are fixed on the first budget of the third term of the Modi government. For your information, let us tell you that the budget session of Parliament will run from 22 July to 12 August. During this session, on July 23, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the Union Budget 2024-25. With this, Sitharaman will become the first Finance Minister to present seven consecutive Union Budgets.

President Draupadi Murmu, who is on a four-day visit to Odisha, is visiting the historic Udayagiri Caves in Bhubaneswar. The Udayagiri Caves are famous for the Hathigumpha inscription which is engraved in Brahmi script. The inscription begins with the 'Jain Namokar Mantra' and refers to various military campaigns undertaken by Kharavela, a legendary king of Kalinga, the ancient name of Odisha.

Belarus has been formally accepted as the 10th member country of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO). This will increase SCO's capacity for regional cooperation. SCO is an inter-governmental organization that was established in the year 2001. Currently SCO has 10 full members, two observer countries and 14 dialogue partners. India is also a full member of it.

The Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh has announced to launch 'Mitra Van' as part of the Tree Plantation Mass Campaign-2024 on the border of Uttar Pradesh and Nepal. For this initiative, at least 35 forest divisions will identify locations for setting up 'Mitra Vans'. In this initiative, special forests like 'Shakti Van', 'Yuva Van' and 'Bal Van' will also be established in every district participating in the tree plantation mass campaign.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in collaboration with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has launched the indigenous light tank 'Zorawar' and it will soon be extensively tested. This tank is powered by a Cummins engine and DRDO has started a project to develop a new engine domestically.
