The Delhi government on 1 May 2013 decided to hike auto fares by 25 per cent in the national capital.

The Delhi government on 1 May 2013 decided to hike auto fares by 25 per cent in the national capital. The new rate came into effect from 2 May 2013. Now passengers will have to pay 25 rupees instead of the existing 19 rupees for the first two kilometers and further per kilometer they will have to pay eight rupees in place of the existing 6.5 rupees.

The fare of non AC taxi will increase from 11 rupee to 14 rupees per kilometer rate for AC taxis will be 16 rupees a kilometer instead of 13 rupees a kilometer. There is no change in the waiting charges.
