Indira Gandhi National Open University's Advanced Centre for Informatics and Innovative Learning in partnership with the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay conducted a Digital Drishti Workshop in February 2011. The workshop was organised to provide basic computing and Internet surfing skills to the visually-challenged using free and open source software. The workshop aimed at providing digital vision with the assistance of software driven spoken tutorials. Participants at the Digital Drishti Workshop were provided with an overview of Linux-based screen readers for the visually-challenged. The workshop enabled participants to operate basic Internet functions to increase their employability.
