First Arabic translation of Indian Constitution launched in Cairo

The first Arabic translation of Indian Constitution was launched on 9 December 2014 in Cairo. The translation was done by International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance.

The first Arabic translation of Indian Constitution was launched on 9 December 2014 in Cairo.

The Arabic translation was launched by the Secretary General of the Arab League Nabil El Araby along with Indian Secretary (East) ambassador Anil Wadhwa.

The launch was organised in the Secretariat of the League of Arab States by the Embassy of India in collaboration with the League of Arab States.

The translation was undertaken by the International Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance (IDEA).

The translated Constitution meets the aspirations of all sections of society and is characterised by large lingual, religious and ethnic diversity.
