G8 Nations Condemned North Korea’s Nuclear Weapons Programme

Foreign ministers from the G8 group of nations in a meeting held in London in the second week of April 2013 condemned North Korea's nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programmes.G8 nations also expressed their deep concern over the conflict in Syria. Moreover, they took historic pledge on preventing sexual violence in conflict.

The Group of Eight nations includes the US, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Canada and Russia. Britain at present holds the rotating chairmanship of the G8 and the talks are a prelude to the annual G8 summit later in 2013 in Northern Ireland.
