The Union government has announced that it would be providing full scholarship to 100 non-Indian students if they study Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy (Ayush) in any of the public institutions across India.
The announcement was made by Ayush Minister Sripad Naik who is on a three day visit to UAE to participate in the first ever International Ayush Conference and Exhibition in Dubai.
• The main aim behind the initiative is to encourage and popularise the alternative system of medicine.
• The details of the application process and scholarship will soon be available with the Indian missions abroad.
• The 100 students can be from any country across the world.
For further promotion of the traditional system of medicine in the Middle East region, the Ayush ministry would be setting up an Ayush chair in Dubai in coordination with the Ministry of Health (MoH) of UAE.
The three-day International Ayush Conference which began on 9 November 2017, is the first ever platform that would bring together the practitioners, policy makers, industrialists, researchers and students of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy from around the globe.
