Gujarat government on 20 February 2012 sold 2736 hectares land in Dholera special investment region [SIR] to three different companies. Infrastructure giant, Hindustan Construction Company [HCC], Greater Dholera Infracon (a subsidiary of Singapore based USEL Group) and Nano Works Developer are the three companies who have hot into an agreement with the government to purchase the land.
The collective cost of the land was estimated to be Rs 927 crore. The companies are purchasing land in two phases. HCC is buying 766 hectares for Rs 293 crore, Greater Dholera Infracon, 1,208 hectares for Rs 473 crore and Nano Works Developer is purchasing 402 hectares for Rs 160 crore.
The state government had issued an offer to sale the land in Dholera special investment region in 2011. The Dholera Special Investment Region development Authority (DSIRDA) had issued offer letters regarding the sale of land in the Dholera special investment region to three companies on 12th October 2011, which they agreed to subsequently.
