NRL & BPC signed MoU to export petroleum products to Bangladesh

It seeks to provide cooperation in export of petroleum products from NRL’s marketing terminal in Siliguri, West Bengal to BPC’s depot at Parbatipur in Bangladesh.

Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) and Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) on 22 April 2015 signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to export petroleum products to Bangladesh.

The MoU was signed by Mustafa Qudrat-I-Elahi, General Manager (Planning and Development) of BPC and Bruno Ekka, NRL’s General Manager (Marketing and Business Development) in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

Highlights of the MoU

• It seeks to provide cooperation in export of petroleum products from NRL’s marketing terminal in Siliguri, West Bengal to BPC’s depot at Parbatipur in Bangladesh.
• As per the agreement, petroleum products will be exported through the proposed Indo-Bangla Friendship Pipeline (IBFPL) and at the capacity of one Million Metric Tonne Per Annum (MMTPA).
• The IBFPL pipeline of 130 km length will be implemented through a joint venture (JV) company formed by NRL and Bangladesh Petroleum.
