Open Letter on Global Leaders for Tourism Campaign handed over to the Vice President

Global Leaders for Tourism Campaign

Secretary General of United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Taleb Rifai handed over an open letter on Global Leaders for Tourism Campaign to Hamid Ansari, the Vice President of India on 10 April 2013. The letter was given to him to explain about the campaign.

Bout the Campaign
• At present 47 countries have joined the campaign from the day it was launched in 2011.
• The campaign was initiated by the joint efforts of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) and World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) to acknowledge the instrumental role of Tourism in global economy
• The campaign aims at pushing efforts of the nation on priority basis towards development of the tourism sector and being in economic development by promoting opportunities of employment
