RBI approved the appointment of V.G. Mathew as MD and CEO of South Indian Bank

RBI on 22 September 2014 approved the appointment of V.G. Mathew as MD and CEO of South Indian Bank Ltd.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 22 September 2014 approved the appointment of V.G. Mathew as Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kerala-based South Indian Bank Ltd.

V.G. Mathew is appointed for a period of three years with effect from 1 October 2014. He will replace V.A. Joseph who will retire on 30 September 2014 after serving the bank for 12 years.

His appointment was made under the Section 35B of the Banking Regulation Act 1949.

V. G. Mathew served as an Executive Vice President of The South Indian Bank Ltd since 2 January 2014.
Before joining the South Indian Bank Ltd, Mathew served as Chief General Manager of Corporate Accounts Group at State Bank of India.
