Swapan Dasgupta who was the editor of Peoples March, a maoist mouthpiece died in custody on 29 Jan 2010 in Kolkata. He was arrested on 6 October 2009 on charges of being associated with the People’s March that was earlier banned by the Kerala Government. The ban was however lifted by the Press & Registration Appellate Board (PRAB) on 7 August 2009 two months before Dasgupta’s arrest.
