Chennai police confirmed on 22 Feb 2010 that fingerprints taken from a body found in a lake matched that of missing CPM leader WR Varada Rajan. WR went missing on 11 Feb 2010. Allegation of misbehaving with a woman was brought against him. An enquiry on the issue followed resulting in his expulsion from his party’s central committee and state committee in February 2010.
