Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2022 winners: This year, Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar conferred to 29 children. These awardees are 15 Boys and 14 Girls belonging to 21 States and UTs. They are selected from all the regions of the country for their exceptional achievements in 6 categories.

Due to the emerging COVID-19 situation in the country, the awards were organised virtually on the occasion of National Girl Child Day and also as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. PMRBP awardees of 2021 and 2022 along with their parents and concerned District Magistrate of their respective district attended the event. 

The award consists of a cash prize of Rs 1,00,000. It was given to the awardees of PMRBP 2022 and was transferred online to the respective winners accounts during the programme by the PM of India Narendra Modi.

61 winners of PMRBP of 2021 and 2022 were provided digital certificates during the function by the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi by using a Block Chain-driven technology that was developed by IIT Kanpur under the National Blockchain Project. These certificates are stored in digital wallets installed on the mobile devices of the recipients. These digital certificates are unforgeable, globally verifiable, selectively disclosable, and sensitive to user content. Block Chain Technology was used for the first time for giving certificates to awardees.

Who finalised the names of the awardees?

The names of the awardees for the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar are finalised by the National Selection Committee headed by the Minister, MWCD (Ministry of Women and Child Development).
