Four students of BVCOE bag IIT Bombay research internship, details here

Following a rigourous training process, four students from Pune’s Bharati Vidyapeeth College of Engineering have bagged research internships at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay. Gaurav Goyal, Sunath Khadikar, Adarsh Kumar and Shruti Mane will be paid a stipend of Rs 10,000 per month by IITB. They will conduct the proposed research work from December this year to June next year.

The Principal and Dean of the institute Anand Bhalerao expressed his happiness and said that the research internship at IITB will be a great opportunity for the students to exhibit their research aptitude and skills.

"These awards are available for specific research projects. The details of these projects are made available to the candidates so that they can apply for projects of their interest and can prepare well for a rigorous selection procedure. The selected interns are required to work full time for four to six months on the project and will be given a fixed stipend," Bhalerao said to The Times of India.

According to the report published in TOI, during the internship, Kumar will work on his project of assessing the impacts of electricity access on the socio-economic development in rural areas; under the guidance of Anand Rao in Centre for Alternative for Rural Areas (CTARA).

Goyal will conduct research on Supply chain Network Design under the guidance of Pankaj Dutta of Department of SJM School of Management. Mane will conduct research Assessment of efficiency of array of wave energy converters using MIKE21 BW model under the guidance of Manasa Behera of Dept of Civil Engineering at IITB.

Khadikar will deal with knowledge of Data analysis using SPSS tools and Design of Experiments for cognitive science and psychology under the guidance of Rashmi Gupta from the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IITB.
