Karnataka Board Exam 2025: The Karnataka State Government has informed the Supreme Court that the state has withdrawn the notification issued for conducting board exams for classes 5, 8, and 9 in the current academic year. The SC bench comprising Justice Bela M Trivedi and Satish Chandra Sharma was hearing an appeal filed by the Organisation for Unaided Recognised Schools against the March 22 judgement of the Karnataka High Court.
As per the earlier judgement, the high court division bench permitted the state government to conduct the board exams to classes 5, 8, 9 and 11 for the 2023-24 academic year overruling the March 6 verdict of a single judge bench. The single-judge bench nullified the government decision of October 2023 to conduct exams for these classes.
The Supreme Court stayed the high court division bench order and an April 6th order passed by the Karnataka School Quality Assessment and Accreditation Council until further orders.
