Manipur Schools Closed: The Manipur state government, set to reopen schools and colleges in Imphal Valley and Jiribam district today, November 25, 2024, has now scrapped its decision. Schools, colleges, and universities were closed in Imphal West, Imphal East, Trouble, Bishnupur, Kakching, and Jiribam districts for almost a week as per prohibitory orders issued considering violence in the state.
In an order issued on Sunday night, the Directorate of Education—School stated that the school reopening order regarding the resuming of normal classes for schools in the state, including government, government-aided, private, and central schools, is hereby cancelled, and schools of the Valley District will continue to remain closed on November 25 and 26, 2024.
The prohibitory orders in the valley have been relaxed from 5 am to 12 pm to enable people to buy essential supplies.
