CBSE 2019 - 20: Students can opt for Yoga, Artificial Intelligence, Early Childhood Care Education
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approved inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an optional sixth subject for class 9 students from the upcoming academic session 2019 – 20. Besides AI, CBSE has also introduced Early Childhood Care Education and Yoga as new subjects.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has approved inclusion of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as an optional sixth subject for class 9 students from the upcoming academic session 2019 – 20. Besides AI, CBSE has also introduced Early Childhood Care Education and Yoga as new subjects.
According to CBSE, class 9 students can opt for AI as a sixth optional subject. CBSE Schools can also start a module on AI learning for class 8 students. Early Childhood Care Education & Yoga will be introduced at Senior Secondary Level from the academic session 2019-20.
CBSE Class 10th students (from 2019-20) also have the choice to opt for sixth skill paper besides five compulsory papers. In case, if a student failed in any one of the compulsory subjects then it can be replaced by the skill paper and CBSE Class 10h result will be computed based on the best five subjects. But, if a candidate wants to reappear in the failed subject, they may appear along with the compartment exam.
The board has advised CBSE Schools to offer at least one skill subject at Senior Secondary level. The schools need to send the application to the board for these subjects before March 31, 2019.
