The CBSE class 12 results were declared on 23 May 2011 (Monday), in seven regions across the country vis Ajmer, Allahabad, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Chandigarh, Delhi and Guwahati. While Chennai region was on pinnacle with the highest pass percentage of 91.32; the overall pass percentage took a leap of 1.84 percent over 2010 and stood at 81.71 percent.
Ajmer stood second with a pass percentage of 85.5 followed by Delhi with a pass percentage of 85.45. Girls once again out shown boys with 86.93 pass percentage compared to 77.83 percent of the later. The graph of students getting compartment also decreased this year from 11.07 percent in 2010 to 10.67 percent in 2011.
The private schools in Delhi fared better with 89.71 pass percentage compared to government schools with 87.48 pass percentages. However the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV- 96.52 pass percentage) and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV- 95.63 pass percentage) were exceptions and performed much better than the private schools.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted class 12 exams from 1 March, 2011 to 13 April 2011.
