In all CBSE affiliated schools, the summative assessments for classes IX and X in schools which include the vocational subject as the 6th subject will be conducted by the CBSE from the next academic session. The schools offering vocational subjects will receive question papers for board-based as well as school-based examinations.
As per a statement issued by the CBSE, schools opting for the board-based examination will get the board papers and the students will be allotted different centres for taking the examination.
The schools opting for school-based examination will be provided with the question papers, along with the marking scheme for the same through email.
Schools offering vocational subjects are required to download the question papers of academic subjects from CBSE-Integrated Test Management System (CBSE ITMS).
Vocational courses are important for enhancing the professional skills of the students to help them secure a job according to their area of specialty and expertise. The initiative undertaken by the CBSE to introduce the vocational subjects under National Vocational Education Qualification Framework in the school curriculum is going to be of much importance.
Practical assessment for vocational subjects will also be carried out internally by the schools.
