Result of Joint Engineering Entrance Advanced test (JEE-Advance) 2014 was announced on 19 June 2014, as per the result list Chitraang Murdia, a resident of Rajasthan has topped the exam with obtaining 334 out of 340 marks in total. Another student, named in topper list is Srijan Garg, Resident of Delhi.
The female candidates excelled too as Aditi from IIT Roorkee zone secured the top position among all the female category who appeared in this test for the present year. She obtained an All India Rank of 7, while 5 more females managed to attain a position among top 100 rankers in JEE-(Advanced).
27,151 candidates out of 1,26,997 registered, were able to qualify the examination this year. Among those 19,416 are in common merit list.
6,000 candidates who qualified exam are under OBC (NCL) category, 4,400 from SC and 1,250 among the ST merit lists. Surprisingly, 243 candidates belonging to persons with disability (PWD) category did will too by qualifying the entrance examination successfully.
In the JEE Advance exam, which was conducted on 25 May 2014, near about 1.19 lakh aspirants appeared for it. JEE-Advance was conducted after selecting top ranking 1.5. lakh students from JEE – (Main) examination, to fill seats in IIT and ISM- Dhanbad.
Those who got through JEE-Advance as well can begin to apply for their choice of courses from various options.The process of applying for course and college will begin from 20 June 2014 (Friday) and the late for doing so will be till 24 June.
Those aspirants who who wish to apply for Architecture course and have cleared the JEE Advanced exam need to attempt the Architecture Aptitude Test of which the date to appear is 26 June, 2014.
The total number of seats on offer in both 16 IITs and ISM Dhanbad together is 9,784. JEE-Advance is the entrance test for admission to undergraduate engineering and architecture courses at Indian Institutes of Technology and Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad
