GATE 2017: Exam Notification released, Apply before 04 October 2016, Exam starts on 4 February

GATE 2017 notification is out! Engineering graduates can now gear up their preparation for one of the most prestigious examinations, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). Application submission for GATE 2017 will commence from 01 September 2016.

GATE examination is held every year to grant admission to eligible students to various post graduate programs in IITs, NITs and many other government organisations. The students also receive financial assistance from the Ministry of Human Resource Development and other government bodies. Apart from the institutes mentioned above, GATE score is considered valid in many public and private sector organizations as well. With the help of GATE score, students can take admission in MTech, ME and PhD courses. The scores also used by PSUs for recruitment. Read more about GATE 2017 here

Candidates are required to send their application online along with application fee of Rs 1500 (Rs 750 for women and SC/ST/ PwD candidates). Application fee can be paid online through net banking or through e-challan. Candidates should send their GATE 2017 application before 04 October 2016.

GATE 2017 will be organized by IIT Roorkee on 04-05 and 11-12 February 2017. Application for the same are invited from Bachelor’s degree holders in Engineering/ Technology  (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc/ Diploma in Engineering/Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs or Bachelor’s degree holders of Architecture (Five years course) or Bachelor’s degree in Science(Post-Diploma/4 years after 10+2) or Master’s degree in any branch of Science/Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Applications or equivalent or Post-BSc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Four year program) or Integrated Master’s degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering / Technology (Five year program) or Integrated M.Sc. or Five year integrated B.S.-M.S. program or B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g., AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India).

The GATE 2017 examination will be held online. GATE 2017 admit card will be available on 05 January 2017. The GATE result will be available on 27 March 2017.

This year the GATE 2017 has new add-ons to the exam. The XE paper now has a new section on Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (section H). With this the number of sections in the XE paper has increased to eight (A-H).
