Scoring 99+ % percentile is not required in XAT…95+ does the job

Since, there is still time left for the XAT exam, we need a preparation strategy that will help us clear our concepts and brush up our knowledge to get good score in the exam. Candidates can refer to the XAT exam pattern as given below to gain a better understanding of what the XAT question paper is like:

    Section Name

    No. Of Questions

    Negative Marking

    Decision Making

+1 marks for every correct answer

Negative 0.25 for every wrong answer

    Verbal and Logical Ability

Quantitative Ability (QA) and Data Interpretation (DI)

    General Knowledge

    No Negative Marking

The total duration of the exam is 3 hours or 180 minutes.

XAT also considers sectional cutoff so you need to focus on each and every area of the syllabus as being good in English will not save you from the aptitude and scoring good in reasoning cannot compensate for your English score here.

40-45+ marks can be regarded safe to get you 95+ percentile, but, since percentile depends on the test taken it will vary accordingly

Key areas to score maximum percentile in XAT Exam are:

    1. Practice more and more mock test to increase speed and accuracy as striking a right balance between speed and accuracy is all that matters to score good in XAT
    2. All sections are equally important so clearing sectional cutoff is mandatory
    3. One should practice critical reasoning and reading comprehensions as they can get you more marks.. do not under estimate this area
    4. Geometry, Number system, Probability and DI is a key to crack QA and DI section
    5. Prepare for static and current affairs for the past 6 months and revise them so that you can retain at that very moment
