IAS Topper 2013 Munish Sharma: Jagranjosh.com is a Good Initiative

    Munish Sharma in talks with Rachit Kumar Saxena shared his feelings after getting success and his strategy to achieve 2nd Rank in the IAS Exam 2013.

    Dressed in the casual outfit, he seemed very much relaxed but very much oriented towards the coming up responsibilities. Feeling great after the success in the exam, it is like a dream come true for him and is highly thankful to his mother, teachers, brothers and friends. Wanted to become an IAS officer since his childhood days and make a long lasting contribution to the Society and the Nation, he was waiting for the right moment to make it big.

    He has no role model as such but he looks up to APJ Abdul Kalam, Lata Mangeshkar, A R Rahman. He said that there is something unique in each person and he learns something from each individual he come across but looks forward to his mother for the outlook towards life.

    Number of Attempts

    This was his second attempt and he has made it this big.He said, he worked upon his weaknesses which paid dividends in the second attempt. He said, there is always a different story of each one of us and there is no minimum time duration for the preparation but yes some bare minimum ground needs to be covered, and that depends on the individual. Strong in the conventional topics of the IAS Syllabus, he focused on the current affairs and reading newspaper helped him a lot to achieve this success.

    On Joining coaching Institutes

    He said, joining coaching institute provides a guidance and direction to the preparations but the coaching institute must be good enough for this purpose as there are number of mushrooming coaching institutes everywhere. He said that the candidates should join a coaching institute where the focus is more on discussions and self preparation and mugging up of the readymade notes will not work.But they are not indispensible.

    On Changed Pattern

    Very much convinced that the examination, is analysis oriented now then fact oriented, he said the examination is evolved for the better. He said Internet is a boon for the present generation but the candidates should resist from the unauthentic sources. He emphasised that Jagranjosh.com is a good initiative and it give the relevant and summarized information. He said he is a regular follower of Rajya Sabha TV, Lok Sabha TV, DD News, The Hindu and Indian Express.

    Educational Background

    He did his MBA from Las Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management. Graduation in Bio-chemistry from Sri Venkateswara College and Schooling from MCL Saraswati Bal Mandir, New Delhi. He said that their can be or cannot be a link in the optional Subject and the educational background of the candidate. It depends on the comfort and interest of the candidate.

    Hobbies and Interest

    He likes Cooking and writing Poetries in the different languages, listening to melody based music and have a keen interest in reading about the new developments in Science. He knows Hindi, English, Punjabi and Urdu.

    Message to the Candidates

    He said the Candidates should enjoy the journey because the preparation for this covenant exam changes the world perspective of the candidates and made them a better and more responsible citizen and human being. He said it is a life transforming experience and one should enjoy it.
