Sarvesh Mehtani from Chandigarh obtained the first rank in JEE Advanced 2017 which is considered to be the one of the toughest examination for the admissions in graduate level engineering courses. Sarvesh was ranked 55th in JEE Main 2017. He wrote JEE Advanced exam from the Roorkee zone that was conducted on 21st May 2017. He obtained 339 marks out of 366 in which he got 120 marks in Mathematics, 104 marks in Physics and 115 marks in Chemistry.

His father told that Sarvesh’s aim was always to come in the top 10 in competitive examination. Whenever he feels stressed he watches cartoons, listen to music and play badminton. He told that anyone can crack IIT JEE who works hard by remaining focused.

The success mantra he wants to convey to his juniors is to stay calm, organized and work hard.

Sarvesh’s teacher said that he is a brilliant child. His focusness, groundedness brought him the results for which he was capable of.

Q 1. How are you feeling?

Ans 1.  Worked very hard 2 to 3 years, today I got the result of that hard work.

Q 2. How many hours you devoted everyday for your preparation?

Ans 2. 5 to 6 hours daily except time devoted at school and coaching and on the day of holiday almost 8 hours.

Q. Is only hard work for the preparation is important or there are some others also?  If yes, what are them?

Ans 3. Hard work matters a lot and it’s the most important factor but the support of teachers and parents is also very important. Without their support everything seems to be impossible. And self study must be 5 to 6 hours when there are classes at school and coaching and on holidays self study must be of at least 8 hours.

Q 4. To whom do you want to give your all credits?

Ans 5. I want to give all the credits to my teachers and parents and to me also.

Q 6How does school adds to your success?

Ans 7. In school NCERT books are being taught that is very important to crack any competitive examination. In school we do practicals which also help a lot.

Q 7. What is your nearest aim?

Ans 7. My nearest aim now is to take admission in IIT Bombay.
