MAH CET 2016: Registration Form, Syllabus & Dates

    MAH-CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is the official state level entrance test for admission to MBA or MMS programs in the state-run or affiliated universities and private institutes in Maharashtra. This state level entrance exam is conducted by Maharashtra's Directorate of Technical Education (DTE).

     

    The Director, Technical Education is the Competent Authority for MBA/MMS/PGDM Courses in Maharashtra. The information brochure for admission is available on website. The brochure gives the rules and information regarding the eligibility for admission to first year of two year full time post graduate degree courses in Management namely MBA/MMS and PGDBM/ PGDM in various institutes in Maharashtra.

    MAH CET 2016 Important Date:

    • Date of Commencement of Registration: 12th February 2016

    • Date of closure of Registration : 23rd February 2016

    • Date for admit card: 04 March 2016 onwards

    • Expected exam date: 12 & 13 March 2016

    • Expected date of result of MAH – CET: 29 March 2016 at 5:00 pm

    • MAH CET 2016 Registration for Counselling rounds: From mid of May 2016 – end of May 2016

    • MAH CET 2016 Counselling: in the first week of June 2016

    • MAH CET 2016 Provisional Merit List: in the first week of June 2016

    • Submission of grievance against the provisional merit list:in the first week of June 2016

    • Final Merit List: in the first week of June 2016

    Courses covered under MAH CET 2016

    Maharashtra's Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) conducts MAH – CET for shortlisting appropriate candidates for the following courses;

    • Master of Business Administration (MBA)

    • Master of Management Studies (MMS),

    • Post Graduate Diploma Course in Business Management (PGDBM)

    • Post Graduate Diploma Course in Management (PGDM).

    MAH CET 2016 Exam pattern / Structure

    MAH - CET will be anobjective type exam. There will be no descriptive type questions in the exam. There will not be any negative marking for incorrect answers and each question will carry 1 marks for correct response. The exam will be of multiple choice question pattern where each question is followed by 5 choices.

    MAH - CET will be an online test of 2.50 hours duration.Exam paper will be consisted of 200 MCQ questions. MCQ format based questions will be asked from 4 sections;

    MAH CET 2016 Test Paper Section wise detail

    (1) Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension

    Questions from this section is mainly asked to test candidates’ English language proficiency. In this test there will be passages with questions based on their contents to test candidate’s comprehension ability.

    Under this section candidate’s English Language ability willbe tested with the help of questions from grammar, vocabulary, sentence completion, synonyms, antonyms, reading comprehension of passages etc.

    (2) Quantitative Aptitude

    Under this section questions are asked to test that how fast and accurate a candidate can work with numbers, does numericalcalculations understand various arithmetic problems.

    • Percentage

    • Quantitative Reasoning

    • Data Interpretation – Graphs, Charts, Tables

    (3) Logical / Abstract Reasoning

    Under this section questions are asked to test the quick, accurate and sharp thinking of a candidate.

    Questions from this section is mainly asked from following topics;

    • Linear and Circular Arrangement

    • Series Completion

    • Direction

    • Conditional Coding

    • Selection Criteria

    • Venn Diagram

    MAH CET 2016,Registration Procedure

    Online Application:

    Interested and eligible candidates can registered online on the official web site of Directorate of technical education of Maharashtra(http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in/) for online application eligible candidates will be required to upload his/her photo and signature as per the given official instructions on the site and have to entered all required information.Candidates also need to pay required fees.

    Following are the steps for applying online application;

    Step 1: First of all visit official website of Directorate of technical education of Maharashtra (http://www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in).

    Step 2: Click on “Apply online” button.

    Step 3: Fill their personal, qualification and other detail as mentioned in the form.

    Step 4: Now upload their recent passport size photograph and signature.

    Step 5: Select test centerfor examination and click on submit button.

    Step 6: After filling the form candidatesrequired to pay examination fee through internet banking / Debit Card/ Credit Card.

    MAH CET 2016 Main points for Registration Procedure

    1. Candidates from Maharashtra and J & K migrant those applying for the All India seats are not required to pay any extra fees. These candidates are required to submit only one MAH – CET Application form.

    2. Candidates who have appeared for CAT, XAT, CMAT, MAT, ATMA and GMAT are also required to apply in online application format.

    3. If candidates deposit fees through challan then candidates will have to kept his “candidate’s copy” that is taken from bank as a proof of fee deposit for future use. Candidates  are  required  to  produce  the receipt of  the  payment  of  fees  at  the  time  of confirmation of submission of CAP application form for admission at the ARC and therefore the candidates are instructed to carefully preserve the receipts of the payment for further use.

    4. Applicants who want to apply for admission through CAP against All India seats,only on the basis of their percentile score obtained in CAT, CMAT, GMAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA also will have to register for MAH - CET. However the Admit card for such candidates shall not be issued. Such candidates can take a printout of the submitted application form for future reference.

    Application Fees for MAH CET 2016

    Application Fees for MAH – CET is as follow;
    • For Open Category Candidates from Maharashtra State, Outside Maharashtra State (OMS), J & K Migrant candidates and NRI/foreign nationals/PIO/Children of Indian Workers in the Gulf Countries Candidates --- Rs. 1000.

    • For candidates of backward class and persons with disabilities (Only of Maharashtra) --- Rs. 800.
    Candidates can pay application feeswith the help of following means;

    • It can be paid at any Axis Bank branch in cash through e- challan as per schedule during working hours of the bank.

    • Candidate can also pay the application fee online with the help of Internet banking, Credit card /Debit card.

    MAH CET 2016 Eligibility

    • Anapplicantmust have passed Bachelor's degree of minimum three years duration in any disciplinewith a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories belonging to Maharashtra State only).

    • Applicants appearing for the final year of the Bachelor's degree examination are also eligible to apply.

    • Maharashtra State and OMS candidates who have appeared for the CAT / GMAT / CMAT / MAT / XAT / ATMA / MH-CET are eligible for All India seats subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria. Such candidates are also required to fill and confirm online application form.

    Main Points of MAH CET 2016

    Applicants need to consider following main points for MAH – CET;

    (1) MAH – CET is conducted as online examination on some specific exam centers.

    (2) The question paper is consisted of 200 MCQ based questions followed by 5 options.

    (3) Time duration for this exam will be 2.5 hours.

    (4) This entrance exam is conducted in two or more sessions, depending upon the number of applicants.

    (5) Test paper will be only in English language.

    (6) There will not be negative marking for the examination.

    (7) MAH – CET score card will be valid for same session only.

    (8) Electronic devices will not be permitted at exam centers, during the examination.
