Rajasthan Technical University (RTU) recently, joined the Association of India Universities (AIU). RTU from now be able to access aids, grants, scholarly papers, research journals along with being able to participate in inter-university sports tournaments. In addition, it can also assist RU students who are seeking admission seat in overseas universities.
The Association of India Universities (AIU) is an association/group of major Indian universities. Some prominent members of AIU comprise of AIIMS, BITS of Pilani, IIT-Guwahati, Delhi University etc. As a team, AIU committee collectively works to assess the curriculum content, facilities, and syllabi of courses. Besides, it compares the scores of universities of abroad, in context to various courses offered by the Indian universities.
R. P. Yadav ( Vice-chancellor of RTU) told, that many foreign universities recognizes AIU member Universities which gives AIU associated universities an upper edge to Indian students while securing admissions in Masters and PHD level programmes abroad. He adds that this potentially attracts foreign students to Indian universities as well.
As informed by R.P. Yadav, RTU is at advantage to have academic support from other premier member universities after associating with AIU including access to educational resources, assistance in research works from other associated universities falling under AIU.
The AIU regularly holds educational events such as conference, seminars, and other competitive events in between member universities to help both teachers and students to get boosted.
Other than academics, RTU is also at advantage in extra-curricular activities. So far, 2.5 lakh state students of engineering and management colleges were devoid of sports and cultural activities. AIU membership from now will facilitate the ardent students to take part in sports meets, which are held zonal wise, each year.
