RRB NTPC Exam Pattern 2024
The RRB NTPC exam pattern consists of a four stage selection procedure, i.e., RRB NTPC CBT 1 and 2, CBAT and document verification. The CBT 1 and 2 examination is an objective type examination that consists of subjects such as mathematics, reasoning and general awareness. RRB NTPC Exam Pattern for CBT 1
The first stage of the examination is known as the RRB NTPC CBT 1 (Computer Based Test) exam. This stage is qualifying in nature and the marks scored in this examination are not counted while preparing the final merit list. Check the features of the RRB NTPC CBT 1 exam pattern.
- The exam duration is 90 minutes (120 minutes for PwBD).
- There will be negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer marked.
- The total number of candidates selected for the 2nd stage examination will be 20 times of notified vacancies.
- The final scores will be released after normalising; the normalised scores will be used for making the final merit list.

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern for CBT 2
The second stage of the examination is known as the RRB NTPC CBT 2 exam. The candidates who clear the CBT 1 examination will be called for stage 2, i.e., CBT 2. RRB NTPC Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT) 2024
The RRB NTPC CBAT will be conducted only of candidates who have opted for Traffic Assistant and Station Master. The candidates need to secure a minimum T-score of 42 marks in each of the test batteries to qualify.
Candidates equal to 8 times the number of vacancies of Station Master (SM)/Traffic Assistant (TA) for each of the communities, i.e., UR, OBC-NCL, SC, ST and EWS (including ExSM), shall be shortlisted for CBAT based on their performance in 2nd Stage CBT from among the candidates who have opted for the post of SM/TA.

RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test
The RRB NTPC Typing Skill Test will be conducted for the posts Senior Clerk cum Typist, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Time Keeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Accounts Clerk cum Typist and Junior Time Keeper, Typing Skill Test (TST) of qualifying nature. Check the highlights below.
- Qualifying in nature.
- Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for typing tests.
- The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on a personal computer only without editing tools and a spell check facility.
RRB NTPC Document Verification
Based on the performance of candidates in 2nd Stage CBT and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBAT/TST (as applicable), candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification as per their merit and options. In addition, candidates equal to 50% (may increase or decrease at the discretion of RRBs) of the number of vacancies for various posts will also be called for document verification.
