State Council of Educational Research and Training, SCERT, Assam, will be closing the online registration process for its 2-Year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) course for the academic session 2026-2026 on June 10, 2026. Those candidates who are interested and eligible as permanent residents of Assam can submit their applications through the official state admission website, which is scertpet.co.in. The D.El.Ed. course for two years will be conducted in the  NCTE-recognised Teacher Education Institutes, which include DIET, CTE, Normal School, BITE, BTC, Pvt. TEIs of the state for the academic session 2026-28.

SCERT Assam D.El.Ed 2026: Eligibility Criteria and Application Fees

Before registering for the SCERT Assam D.El.Ed at scertpet.co.in for the 2-year program, candidates must carefully read the eligibility criteria and age limit:-

• Age Limit:- Candidates should be between 18 and 34 years of age as of July 1, 2026. A 2-year age relaxation will be given to the reserved categories as per the government rules.
• Education Qualification:- Interested candidates should have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) board exams with a minimum of 50% marks. Candidates belonging to the reserved category will have to score 45% marks. Any optional subject which the candidate might have taken is excluded from this calculation.
• Applicable Fees:- Candidates belonging to all categories will have to pay a uniform application fee of Rs. 600 online using UPI, Debit or Credit Card or Net Banking.

Getting admission through the SCERT Assam D.El.Ed into recognised state teacher institutes, which are as follows:-

• CTEs
• Private TEIs

Is completely dependent on the merit score obtained in the Pre-Entry obtained in the Pre-Entry Test (PET). Interested candidates will also be given a chance to select their desired test district at the time of registration, which will also decide both the exam centre and future institute allotment.
