Staff Selection Commission (SSC), through its open examinations offers various posts at different government departments and ministries. It conducts the examination every year throughout the country to select eligible candidates for the posts after conducting written test as well as personal interview of the candidates. The main responsibility of the Commission is to make recruitment to Group B (non-gazette- both technical & non-technical) & Group C (non-technical) posts in departments of Government of India, its attached & subordinate offices. The posts for which large number of vacancies exist, these are: Graduate Level [Assistant Grade, Auditors/ Inspectors of Income Tax/Central Excise, Sub-Inspectors in Central Police Organisations (Assam rifles, BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP and SSB) and CBI, /Upper Division Clerks, Divisional Accountants,], Higher secondary Level [Stenographer Grade 'C', &'D', LDC/DEO etc] and junior Engineer etc.
