SSC had announced its notification for SSC GD Constable in the end of July dated 21st July, 2018 for 2018-19 and the last date of accepting online applications was 20th August, 2018. Staff selection commission conducts this exam every year to recruit the constables in CRPF, CISF, BSF, ITBP, SSB, NIA, SSF (Special Security Forces), and Rifleman in Assam Rifles. SSC plans to appoint nearly 54,953 vacancies under this category.

SSC GD Constable 2018: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates should have necessary eligibility criteria that include educational qualification, age limit, and physical standards to apply for SSC Constable (GD) Examination 2018. Candidates applying for this post must have graduation degree/diploma/10th Pass from a recognized board or educational institute.

SSC GD Constable 2018: Selection procedure
SSC will adopt the following phase in the selection process-
- Written examination (Objective type) - Merit is prepared based on written exam.
- Physical standard test/ Physical eligibility test- Qualifying in nature
- Medical test- Qualifying in nature
I. Written test (Computer based examination)
It is the very first step in the recruitment process and candidates will be called to attend the online written examination. Besides this, commission will endeavor to accommodate the candidates in centers opted by him / her, it may combine the centers or divert the candidates to other centers, depending on administrative convenience.

- Matriculation level questions will be asked in the exam.

II. Physical Standard Test/ Physical Efficiency Test
The candidates, who have qualified in the written exam, are eligible to appear in PET/PST exams. The physical standard for SSC Constable (GD) Examination 2018 is as follows.

III. Medical Test
This test is also qualifying in nature and candidates who are shortlisted after PST/PET and written examination will be called for medical test. In this phase, generally following test are conducted-

A candidate must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein and squint eyes. After passing in the above medical test, X-Ray and Blood test will be conducted.
