30 Marine Stations to be set-up in Tamil Nadu

30 marine police stations will be set-up in Tamil Nadu to guard the coastal districts of the state.

Coastal Security Group Additional Director General of Police Sylendra Babu on 16 June 2013 announced that 30 marine police stations will be set up in Tamil Nadu. To support the coastal security group and enhance security of the coastal areas, 24 fast-interceptor boats and 14 small boats will be produced

Marine Police patrols up to 12 nautical miles from the coast after that the control shifts in the hand of Indian Coast Guard and Indian Navy.
