Aegon Religare Life Insurance (ALRI) launched a fixed-benefit health insurance plan in Chennai on 18 August 2010. The plan offers benefits such as coverage of all surgeries, guaranteed payment in case of claims and cashless facility in over 3000 hospitals. The guaranteed payment through this fixed-benefit plan would remove the surprise element from claims. The plan would be distributed through regular channels as well as made available online. The minimum entry age is 18 years and maximum 70 years for the primary and secondary life insured for a policy term of 15 years for a regular premium and three years for a single premium. The benefit amount would increase by 10 per cent for every no claim year with the maximum increase fixed at 50 per cent.
