Vodafone India, country’s third largest telecom company, on 10 February 2012 appointed Analjeet Singh as its non executive Chairman. Analjeet Singh will take the charge from 16 February 2012.

Analjeet Singh a telecom industry veteran holds 3%  stake in Vodafone India. Singh is the founder and Chairman of Max India and its subsidiaries like Max New York Life Insurance Company, Max Healthcare Institute and Max Bupa Health Insurance Company.

Singh’s appointment as the non executive Chairman of Vodafone marks a full circle for him as he had founded Max Telecom, which was subsequently renamed Hutchison Essar, Vodafone Essar and finally Vodafone India with the change in the company’s ownership.

Vodafone, the British Mobile Operating Company, is the third largest mobile service provider in India. It currently occupies a 147.75 million large user base in the country.
