The Ministry of Education's Department of Higher Education has launched PM-YUVA 3.0, the Prime Minister's Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors. The program's goal is to encourage reading, writing, and book culture in the nation by training young authors under the age of thirty.
Candidates who are interested may apply for the program on the official website, innovateindia.mygov.in. The competition will run from March 11 to April 10, 2025. Following the great success of the first two PM-YUVA scheme editions, the PM YUVA 3.0 scheme is being introduced, with a large number of young and aspiring authors participating in 22 different Indian languages as well as English.
PM-YUVA 3.0 Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates who were selected for PM-YUVA Scheme 1.0 or PM-YUVA Scheme 2.0 cannot apply for the PM-YUVA 3.0 Scheme 2025-26.
- Participants should not have any academic, professional, or personal commitments that might conflict with the PM-YUVA 3.0 mentorship program.
- The contestant must be exactly thirty years of age or younger as of March 11, 2025.

What is the Selection Process for PM YUVA 3.0
- A total of 50 authors will be selected.
- Authors will be chosen based on the following themes:
- Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building – 10 authors
- Indian Knowledge System – 20 authors
- Makers of Modern India (1950-2025) – 20 authors
- A committee formed by National Book Trust (NBT) will select the authors.

Submission Process for PM YUVA 3.0
Applicants need to submit a Book Proposal with a total of 10,000 words, which should include:
- Synopsis – 2,000 to 3,000 words summarizing the book.
- Chapter Plan – A detailed outline of the chapters.
- Sample Chapters – 2 to 3 chapters, totaling 7,000 to 8,000 words.
