The Bhartiya Janata Party President JP Nadda on September 14, 2020, launched a week-long campaign ‘Seva Saptah’ to celebrate the 70th birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 17.
JP Nadda launched the campaign at Chhaprauli Village in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Western Uttar Pradesh near Delhi. He informed that crores of BJP workers will serve the people as part of the campaign during the week.
According to the BJP President, PM Modi is turning 70 and if we look at his life and his journey, Seva has been the prime focus of his life. He has dedicated his life to the service of people and the country. Hence, the party has decided to observe September 14-20 week as Seva Saptah.
Launch of the week-long ‘Seva Saptah’:
To mark the week-long celebrations which will culminate on September 20, BJP has sent the circular to all of its state units chiefs, suggesting activities that can be taken up as part of the week-long campaign.

The circular which has been sent by the BJP General Secretary Arun Singh contains the list of the programmes, which includes social initiatives, with the theme ‘70’ that states have been asked to organize. The party workers have been all geared up for the programmes suggested by the central office of the party.
During the launch of the week-long campaign, BJP’s state unit Chief Swatantra Dev Singh, Rajya Sabha MP Surendra Nagar, Gautam Buddh Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma, and Local MLA’s Dhirendra Singh, Pankaj Singh, and Tejpal Nagar were present.
According to Swantantra Dev Singh, the idea of Sewa Saptah is to dedicate ourselves to the people with a commitment towards the poor and downtrodden. This has also been the focus of the PM and his government.
Programmes to celebrate PM Modi’s 70th birthday:
• Artificial limbs to 70 differently-abled persons in every district will be distributed. The party will also distribute 70 spectacles in every district.
• The Bhartiya Janata Party leaders will also distribute fruits in 70 hospitals and poor colonies while following the social norms due to COVID-19.
• The party has also asked its members and leaders to make arrangements or the donation of plasma to 70 COVID-19 patients in accordance with the local hospital's needs.
• The workers of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) will be organizing 70 blood donation camps with at least one camp in every district.
• The party workers will also be planting 70 saplings in every booth as well as a cleanliness drive which will be organized in 70 villages of every district with a pledge to get rid of single-use plastic.
• 70 virtual conferences on the life and mission of PM Modi will be organized through webinars as holding an exhibition during a pandemic will not be possible.
• The Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) and Member of Parliament (MPs) and public representatives have been asked to participate in all the programmes while following the COVID-19 norms.
