The Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan and Labour Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar on September 29, 2020 released a booklet on ‘COVID-19 Safe Workplace Guidelines for Industry’. The book was released virtually in the presence of VK Paul, Member (Health) NITI Aayog.
While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Harsh Vardhan informed that these guidelines are timely and commendable and will help in the welfare of the industrial workers. He further added that government under the leadership of PM Modi is committed to the welfare of the workers.

Objective:
The Union Health Minister informed that the released guidelines will act as a comprehensive planning guidance for employers and workers to use it to help identify risk levels of COVID-19 at the individual workplace settings in their premises and to determines the appropriate control measures.
What does the guidelines state? |
| The booklet on the COVID-19 Safe Workplace Guidelines for Industry consolidate all the important measures into a ready reckoner of action points in order to make workplace safe. The guidelines also provide the infection control measures such as frequent hand washing, respiratory hygiene, frequent sanitization of the work place and social distancing. |

While commenting on the significance of the guidelines, Dr. Harsh Vardhan stated that as the country is moving towards the unlocking of the economic activities, it has become important that the guidelines are followed within the industry premises.
He further added that precaution, scientific prevention and positive attitude will help in fighting against Coronavirus. During the event, he also appreciated ESIC hospitals who have been playing a significant role in providing services to the COVID-19 patients.
Labour Minister, Santosh Gangwar who also attended the releases of the guidelines highlighted that these are for the safety of industrial workers and will also encourage people. The minister added that it is important to prepare ourselves mentally for the present situation and spread awareness about the COVID-19 appropriate behaviour.
