Chandrayaan-3 mission is likely to be launched during the third quarter of 2022 if normal workflow continues, informed Union Minister of State in the Department of Space Dr Jitendra Singh on December 8, 2021.

Human Rights Day is observed annually on December 10th. The day is celebrated every year since 1950 in commemoration of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, by the United Nations in 1948.

China's Beijing city will host the 2022 Winter Olympic Games from February 4-20, 2022. The city was selected as the host city after beating Almaty by four votes on July 31, 2015 at the 128th IOC Session in Kuala Lumpur.

Nicaragua announced on December 8, 2021 that it is breaking its diplomatic ties with Taiwan in favor of China. Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega said in a statement, "The People's Republic of China is the only legitimate government representing all of China, and Taiwan is an inalienable part of Chinese territory." The only remaining allies of Taiwan in Central America include Belize, Guatemala and Honduras.
