Ruchira Kamboj, India's first female permanent representative to the United Nations, has retired after 35 years of service. During this time, she served as the Indian ambassador to Bhutan, South Africa, and UNESCO. Kamboj was the all-India female topper of the 1987 civil services batch and the topper of the 1987 foreign service batch. She assumed the position of India's permanent representative/ambassador to the UN on August 2, 2022.

IndiGo will host the next annual general meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in New Delhi in June 2025. IATA recently announced this. On this occasion, IndiGo's CEO Peter Elbers stated that IATA's annual general meeting will be held in India after 42 years. IATA, established in 1945, is a trade association of the world's airlines.

3. (a) Assam

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the central government has approved the establishment of a new Indian Institute of Management (IIM) near Guwahati. The Chief Minister said that the Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM Ahmedabad) will guide the upcoming IIM, which will be established at Marabheeta in Kamrup district.

4. (b) China

Chang'e-6 is a Chinese lunar mission that successfully landed in the southern pole-Aitken basin on the far side of the moon. It is the first unmanned mission to land on the far side of the moon, with the goal of bringing back samples from the moon to Earth for study. The Chang'e-6 mission includes four main modules: an orbiter, a lander, an ascent vehicle, and a return module. It is the next mission after Chang'e-5, which successfully returned samples from the moon to Earth in 2020.

World Bicycle Day is celebrated every year on June 3, 2024. This day is celebrated to promote and adopt sustainable and environmentally friendly means of transportation. In April 2018, the United Nations General Assembly declared that World Bicycle Day would be celebrated annually on June 3.
