The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has recently appointed Dr. as the Chairman of the National Medical Commission. B.N. Gangadhar has been appointed. Yankee's appointment has been made for a term of 4 years. The National Medical Commission is a statutory body in India that regulates medical education, medical professionals, institutions and research. It was established on 25 September 2020 which replaced the Medical Council of India.

2. (a) NIC

National Informatics Centre (NIC) and Spices Board of India have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to develop AI tools for detection of large cardamom diseases in Sikkim. Run by NIC's AI Centre of Excellence in Kolkata, the project aims to detect diseases early and resolve them.

Foreign Minister Dr. S Jaishankar will lead the Indian delegation at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) summit in Astana, Kazakhstan. He is representing Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the 24th meeting of the SCO Council of Heads of States.

4. (b) Air to surface

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) recently successfully test-fired the first indigenous anti-radiation missile, Rudram-1. This is an air-to-surface missile, which has been designed for the Indian Air Force. It is integrated with the Indian Air Force's Sukhoi-30MKI fighter jet, which serves as the launch platform.

NITI Aayog has launched a three-month long 'Sampoornata Abhiyan', running till September 30, to strive to achieve six key indicators in aspiring districts and aspiring blocks across the country. It has been launched in 112 aspiring districts and 500 aspiring blocks under the Aspiring District Programme and Aspiring Block Programme.
