1. (a) Pakistan 

Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, who passed away at the age of 85 after a brief illness on October 10, 2021, was known as the father of Pakistan’s Nuclear Programme. The nuclear physicist had faced criticism in 2004 when he was forced to accept the responsibility for nuclear technology proliferation and was forced to live a life of official house arrest.

2. (a) October 11th 

International Girl Child Day is observed every year on October 11. It is an observance day by the United Nations that aims at amplifying the voices of the young girls all around the world as well as increase awareness about the issues that are faced by them. 

3. (c) Maharashtra

The three coalition partners of Maha Vikas Aghadi in Maharashtra - Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have called for a state-wide bandh on October 11 in protest against Lakhimpur Kheri violence in Uttar Pradesh on October 3rd that claimed the lives of at least eight people including 4 farmers.

Elinor Ostrom was the first woman to be awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in economic sciences for work on human cooperation. She was awarded for her analysis of economic governance, especially the commons.

Iraq Elections 2021: Iraq Parliamentary elections were held on October 10, 2021 after several challenges with the hope of bringing in key reforms. The initial turnout was reported to be around 41 percent, not nearly as low as election officials had earlier feared.
