The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha has started today. Newly elected members of the lower house, including Narendra Modi, took oath. Meanwhile, President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath to BJP leader Bhartruhari Mahtab as the Protem Speaker of the Lok Sabha. Let us inform you that the election of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha will be held on 26 June. After this, on the next day i.e. on 27th June, President Murmu will address the joint meeting of both the Houses. This special session of Parliament will end on July 3.

Lieutenant General NS Raja Subramani will be the next Deputy Chief of the Army Staff and the government has approved his appointment to the post. He is currently heading the Army's Central Command and will replace Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi. He will assume charge in the first week of July.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently announced after a meeting with a Bangladesh delegation that India will launch e-medical visa facility for Bangladeshi citizens coming to India for medical treatment. After the meeting at Hyderabad House, the Prime Ministers of both the countries addressed the media.

India recently announced that it will open a new consulate in Rangpur, Bangladesh to facilitate services for people in the north-west region of the country. Let us tell you that Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina had recently come to India on a two-day state visit.

The Central Government has recently appointed Atul Kumar Chaudhary as the new Secretary of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), a post which was vacant since the retirement of V Raghunandan on May 31. Choudhary is a 1989 batch Indian Telecom Service officer and is currently serving as Deputy Director General (DDG) in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).

The world's first conservation and breeding centre for red-headed vultures will be established in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh. This vulture is also famous by the name of Asian king vultures. This species has been listed on the International Union for Conservation of Nature's Red List since 2007. The name of this centre will be Jatayu Conservation and Breeding Centre.
